  • What's the difference between DIY and BFY?
DIY sends you the leads and you work them. BFY books qualified meetings directly on your calendar and you close them. Most firms start with DIY; if time becomes the bottleneck, they move to BFY.
  • Are your leads any good?
Every contact filled out a form asking for bookkeeping help. They're real people with real businesses. That said, only 10-30% will convert: that's normal for any lead source. Our job is to make sure the math works.
  • How fast can I start?
DIY is self-serve: sign up and leads start within 48 hours. BFY takes longer because we interview you first; application to first meeting is typically 7-14 days.
  • What if it doesn't work for me?
Cancel anytime on DIY, no annual contract. On BFY, credits are non-refundable: but they never expire, there's no contract, and the refund rules are strict in your favor: fake prospect info or our system error trigger a refund. Sales mismatches are part of sales; we don't sell outcomes.
  • How much does it cost?
DIY: $50 a lead with a 3-lead minimum per order, or from $500/mo on a plan, down to $25 a lead at volume. BFY: priced per meeting, by vertical. Bookkeeping is $200 per meeting at entry, down to $150 at 76+ credits; tax resolution is $150 at entry, down to $115. Full pricing on the /diy and /bfy pages, no forms.
  • Who's behind this?
Built by bookkeepers. Randall, our co-founder, personally sold $5M+ in bookkeeping services before starting BBF. Full story on /story.
  • Is this paid advertising or organic leads?
Both programs run on paid advertising across major online platforms. We don't disclose specific channel details, but these are not scraped lists or cold data. Every prospect raised their hand by completing a form asking for bookkeeping help.
  • Do you work outside the US?
US only. We're not serving Canadian firms, UK firms, or any international market right now. If that changes, we'll say so.
  • How do I know you won't just sell my info to other bookkeepers?
On DIY, each lead is shared with at most 3 subscribing firms (per public ToS §2): you're not one of 50. On BFY, every booked meeting is exclusive to you. That's baked into the product and one of the reasons BFY costs more than DIY.

  • What does 'shared with up to 3 firms' actually mean?
Per our public Terms of Service §2, each DIY lead may be delivered to up to three subscribing firms. That's the ceiling, not the floor. First to respond usually wins; 15-minute response beats a 2-hour response almost every time.
  • Do unused leads roll over?
Yes, unused leads roll to the next month. In practice, active firms burn through their monthly allocation, so rollover rarely comes into play. But it's there if you have a slow month.
  • How many clients should I expect from my leads?
A general benchmark for shared leads is that 10 leads may create around 3 meaningful conversations, and those conversations may produce around 1 client. Treat it as a benchmark, not a promise. Results vary significantly with response speed, how many times you follow up, your pricing, your sales process, and how well the work fits what you offer. The single biggest lever is speed: 15 minutes wins, 2 hours loses.
  • Are the leads exclusive?
No. DIY leads are shared with up to 3 firms. If exclusivity is non-negotiable for you, look at BFY: every booked meeting there is exclusive to you. Two different products for two different trade-offs.
  • Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. DIY is month-to-month with auto-renewal (per ToS §4.2). Cancel before your renewal date and the subscription stops at the end of the current period. No annual lock-in, no early-termination fees.
  • What's the chargeback policy?
Don't. All payments are final and non-refundable (ToS §5). If you file a chargeback instead of asking for help, we charge a $250 admin fee, terminate the account, and pursue collection. Email hello@bookedbyfriday.com first: we'd rather solve the problem than fight with your card issuer.
  • Is there a refund if it doesn't work out?
Our Refund Addendum allows a one-time refund of up to one month, case-by-case, at BBF's sole discretion, and only for documented platform errors or verified systemic delivery failures. One per customer lifetime. It's not a satisfaction guarantee. Honest lead math (10-3-1) is part of the deal; we don't refund sales mismatch.
  • How many leads do I actually see per month?
On a plan: Builder 12 leads for $500/mo, Accelerator 30 for $1,000/mo, Enterprise 60 for $1,500/mo. Per-lead cost drops from $41.67 at Builder to $25.00 at Enterprise. Buying ad hoc, you set the number: $50 a lead, 3 minimum per order. Pick based on the capacity you can actually work, not the biggest number.

  • What exactly am I buying with BFY credits?
One credit equals one scheduled meeting on your calendar with a real business owner who is actively looking for bookkeeping help and whose contact information we've verified. That's the product. We don't sell guaranteed closes, budget-qualified buyers, or sales outcomes. We deliver the meeting; you deliver the close.
  • What happens if a prospect no-shows?
Our recommended process: call again one hour after the scheduled time, then call again the next day. Top-performing firms connect with 90%+ of their meetings this way. If the prospect still never responds, our 10-step re-engagement automation fires for 72 hours after you mark the meeting as 'call attempted'. None of this refunds the credit: the meeting was delivered, and the follow-up is part of working your pipeline.
  • Why is there a 10-credit minimum?
Because we've watched the data. Ten meetings is what it takes for the math to actually show you what this can do. It's not a gatekeeper; it's a confidence play. Buy one meeting and any bad luck reads like a verdict on the program. Buy ten and you see the pattern: about half close among our beta firms. That's the number we want you judging us on.
  • When is a credit refunded?
Two situations, full stop. One: the prospect's contact information is clearly fake or false. Two: an internal technical error on our side caused a meeting to be booked despite a calendar conflict or lack of availability. Everything else (no-show, reschedule, budget mismatch, went cold, chose a competitor) is part of sales and not refundable. These rules are strict so nobody is surprised.
  • What's the close rate?
Among our beta firms, approximately 50%. Half close, half don't. That's higher than most paid lead sources and it's still honest: there is no version of this product where everyone closes. Results depend on your availability, your response speed, and your sales process.
  • Who are the prospects?
Primarily small blue-collar US businesses: contractors, landscapers, tradespeople, retailers. Most are doing $10K to $50K per month in revenue. US only. We are working on sourcing higher-revenue clients and industry-specific verticalization, which will launch as premium add-ons when available.
  • How do you position pricing to prospects on my behalf?
Upon booking, we tell every prospect: "Rates start around $75/hour, packaged into a flat monthly price based on your specific needs. Actual pricing may vary depending on your needs and the firm you are matched with." That exact language appears on our website and lead forms. Your job at the meeting is to scope the work, translate it into a monthly price, and close. We set the expectation; you close the deal.
  • What are my TCPA obligations?
You are responsible for full TCPA compliance on every call, text, and voicemail you send a prospect. If you're unfamiliar with TCPA, learn it before you dial (T&Cs §7.3). BBF is not liable for how you contact prospects after we deliver the meeting. Compliance is non-delegable: treat it seriously.
  • How many meetings can I expect per month?
Depends on your availability, our current ad performance, and how many credits you hold. Most firms receive their first meeting within 7 business days of completing setup. After that, expect a steady cadence, but narrow availability windows can stretch things to 30-60 days to work through a credit block. The more open your calendar, the faster we fill it.
  • How does calendar integration work?
We connect directly to your calendar and match prospects to your open slots automatically. If your calendar is closed, we can't schedule. Keeping your availability accurate is your responsibility; it doubles as your pause button.
  • Can I pause my account if I am at capacity?
Yes. You control your availability inside the portal. Close your calendar and we stop scheduling. Open it back up and meetings resume. There is no 'pause subscription' button because BFY isn't a subscription: you buy credits in blocks, they never expire, and availability is your throttle.
  • How established is BFY?
We are 8 months into operations and have grown to serve over 400 firms. Our retention rate is over 80%. Because of that, we've become selective about how many new firms we accept at any given time. We'd rather serve fewer firms well than scale too fast and compromise meeting quality.
  • Do I own the client relationship after the meeting?
Fully. Once the introduction is made, the relationship is yours. We only ask that you update the meeting outcome in the portal. The more accurate outcome data we collect, the better the matching gets for every firm on the platform.
  • What if I am struggling to close?
Then we need to be direct with you: the lead isn't the problem. We have firms closing hundreds of thousands of dollars out of the same pipeline you're looking at. If you want help, we offer paid 1:1 coaching, paid live seminars, and free training materials in the portal. Sales coaching isn't bundled into BFY, and we'd rather tell you that up front than charge you for credits you're not ready to use.

Category · Billing & cancellation

The money side.

  • How does auto-renewal work on DIY?
Monthly. Your subscription renews on the same day each month at the tier price you signed up at (per ToS §4.2 and §5). You can cancel before the renewal date to stop the next cycle; the current period runs to its end.
  • How do I cancel DIY?
Inside the buyer portal, from your billing page, before your renewal date. No phone call, no retention flow. If you run into an issue, email hello@bookedbyfriday.com and we'll get it handled.
  • How do I stop BFY?
Stop buying more credits. There is no auto-renewing subscription on BFY: you buy credits in blocks and they never expire. Close your calendar if you need a hard pause. If you want to be formally off the platform, email us and we'll deactivate your buyer profile.
  • What's the chargeback policy?
All payments are final (ToS §5). If you file a chargeback instead of working with us, we charge a $250 administrative fee, terminate the account, and refer the balance for collection. Email hello@bookedbyfriday.com first. Every problem we've ever heard of has a faster path than your card issuer.
  • Do you ever refund?
DIY: a one-time refund of up to one month is available at our sole discretion under the Refund Addendum, only for documented platform errors or verified systemic delivery failures. One per customer lifetime. BFY: credits refund only for clearly fake contact info or an internal technical error that booked a meeting despite a calendar conflict. Neither program refunds for sales mismatch or dissatisfaction.
  • When is my DIY subscription billed?
At signup for month one, then on the same day each following month until you cancel. Card on file is charged automatically. If the charge fails we retry and email you; persistent failure suspends lead delivery until billing is current.
  • What if my card fails?
We retry and send you an email to update your payment method in the portal. While the account is past due we pause new lead delivery (DIY) or credit purchases (BFY). Update the card and delivery resumes. Nothing is lost while billing is being sorted out.

Category · Compliance & conduct

Your obligations.

Expand all in this section →
  • Who's responsible for TCPA compliance?
You are. Every call, voicemail, text, and follow-up you send a prospect has to comply with TCPA (T&Cs §7.3). BBF delivers a scheduled meeting; how you contact the prospect after that is on you. If you're unsure what TCPA requires, learn it before you dial. Ignorance is not a defense in front of a plaintiff's attorney.
  • How should I handle prospect data?
Scheduled-meeting use only (T&Cs §8.2). You may use contact info to prepare for the meeting, show up on time, and follow up on the specific engagement. You may not add prospects to marketing lists, resell or share their data with third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond the meeting we facilitated. Violation is immediate termination.
  • What's required for outcome reporting?
Update the meeting status in the buyer portal within 6 hours of the scheduled time (T&Cs §7.2). If you don't, the meeting auto-locks to Complete and your next meeting's match quality degrades because we're scoring your outcomes on defaults. Accurate outcome reporting is how the matching engine gets smarter for everyone.
  • What happens if I violate the rules?
Account termination and no refund on remaining credits or paid subscription periods (T&Cs §5.7 and §11.3). The rules we care most about: TCPA compliance, prospect-data handling, no reselling prospect information, no chargebacks instead of a support ticket. If any of those are a problem for you, this isn't the right platform.
  • Can I resell leads or introduce prospects to other bookkeepers?
No. Every lead and every booked meeting is for your firm to engage directly. You may not resell, trade, assign, or sub-broker prospect information to another firm. If you want a referral relationship with another professional (for example, a tax advisor when the prospect asks about tax), make the introduction inside your own client conversation: the prospect stays yours on the bookkeeping side.
  • Can I share the portal with my team?
Yes. The buyer portal supports multiple team members under one firm account, each with their own login and role. Add your SDR or junior staff inside the portal's team settings. Do not share a single login: it breaks audit trails and violates the Terms.
